At the age of four years on October 12, 1997, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I did chemotherapy for two-and-a-half years which ended in May of 2000. I lost my hair two times completely. I was told by my oncologist, that they used to give children five years after chemotherapy to be considered cancer-free, but that they had recently made it 10 years. So at eighteen and a half years old, I was considered cancer-free. I was diagnosed at age twenty-five with stage 2 breast cancer. My oncologist suggested a double mastectomy with a port to be placed. I did four months of chemotherapy, then I entered remission. I was on medication for four years. In March of 2022, I was having some stomach pain and my oncologist was not doing much for me even though I was having other things that didn’t feel right. It took the doctor’s assistant to order a CT scan and that’s when they found three nodules on my lungs. I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and put on targeted medication which I will be on until further notice. That’s all they can do for me at this moment. I still don’t qualify for any trials.
